As Weight Watchers desserts go, you get a lot of tastiness for your Points with this Chocolate Orange Fluff.
At just 1 Smart Point per portion on Weight Watchers Blue, Purple & Freestyle plan and 2 SmartPoints on the Green plan, it's quickly becoming a favourite Weight Watchers dessert recipe of mine.

Who am I kidding, all desserts are favourite go to recipes of mine!
But this one is made with fat free natural yogurt, sugar free jello / jelly and drinking chocolate, so it is low in Smart Points and it tastes like Terry's chocolate orange in dessert form 😀
Kind of!

Whether you have come to this page by typing 'Chocolate Orange Fluff' into Google (unlikely 😀 ) or you have happened upon a pin for this recipe on Pinterest, it is pretty likely that you are following the Weight Watchers Freestyle plan.
And if you are following WW's Freestyle plan you have probably heard of Fluff!
But just incase you haven't, it's a genius recipe that combines sugar free jelly / jello and yogurt which is whisked until bubbles form.
It's then chilled for a couple of hours till it sets into a light and frothy mousse like dessert!
Most Fluff recipes work out as zero Smart Points, like this Lime Fluff and this Marshmallow Fluff. But other fluff recipes work out at 1 or 2 Smart Points per portion like this Strawberry Fluff and this Chocolate Orange Fluff.
That's because they include a few additional or alternative ingredients to the sugar free jelly and fat free yogurt.
This recipe includes drinking chocolate powder.
I used 3 tablespoons of Options Belgian chocolate powder which worked out at 4 Smart Points.
But there are drinking chocolate powders out there that are lower in Smart Points, so feel free to use one of those ..... but I haven't tried them so can not vouch for their taste!
But .... it may well be possible to make this dessert for zero Smart Points!

What jelly / jell-o should I use?
I've made this Chocolate Orange Fluff a number of times! I sometimes use Jell-o Orange Sugar Free Gelatin and sometimes Hartley's Sugar Free Orange Jelly. Both work well!
Whatever jello / jelly powder you use, just make sure that you make it up with half the water that is suggested on the packet.
For the Jell-o brand you get 10.3g of gelatin powder per sachet. You want to make it up by dissolving the powder in ¼ cup of boiling water and then adding ¼ cup of cold water.
Hartley's powdered jelly comes in twin packs with each sachet containing 11.5g of gelatin powder. Make it up by dissolving it in ¼ imperial pint (140ml) of boiling water and then adding ¼ imperial pint (140ml) of cold water.
Which yogurt should I use to make fluff?
You can use any fat free natural yogurt or fat free Greek yogurt to make this Weight Watchers fluff.
I wouldn't suggest that you use a set yogurt to make it though.
It's important to note that you need to use fat free non flavoured yogurt for this dessert to be 1 Smart Point per portion.
Using fat free flavoured yogurt may well add to the Smart Points!
So use your WW calculator or WW phone app to work out the points from the nutritional information if you are using anything other than fat free natural yogurt!
What Chocolate Powder should I use?
I tend to use Options Belgian Chocolate but you could use any other low calorie or fat free hot chocolate powder.
You could also use an unsweetened cocoa powder for a richer chocolate flavoured dessert.
How to serve this Chocolate Orange Fluff
- If you want to turn out your Chocolate Orange Fluff, like the pictures above, you don't need to whisk the mixture quite as much as if you want a light, fluffy fluff! Spoon the mixture into lightly oiled pudding molds, like these ones available from Amazon. Chill for a couple of hours before running a sharp knife around the outside of the mold and turning out onto a plate. Serve with some tinned mandarin slices and a small squirt of Anchor Cream Light!
- To make a very indulgent Chocolate Orange fluff, layer some tinned mandarin slices in the bottom of a tall glass, top with the fluff mixture and leave to chill in the fridge for a couple of hours. Before serving top with a little sugar free chocolate sauce and some light squirty cream or light cool whip. You will need to work out the Smart Points for any chocolate sauce or cream / cool whip that you use.
- Alternatively, just spoon the mixture into individual ramekins and place in the fridge for a couple of hours.
How long does it last in the fridge
This Chocolate Orange Fluff will last in the fridge for a couple of days.
But do take note of the best before date on the yogurt that you use as you probably don't want to keep fluff in the fridge that has gone past that best before date!
Tips for making this Weight Watchers Dessert
- A stand mixer like this Kitchen Aid or this Kenwood K makes mixing the Fluff much easier but is by no means essential. A hand mixer will do the job just as well - it just takes a little more effort!
- The jelly / jello mixture should not be hot when you pour it into the yogurt, that is why it is suggested that you make the jelly up with ½ boiling water and ½ cold water.
- To make a lump free mixture, I would suggest mixing a little of the yogurt into the chocolate powder to create a smooth paste before adding the remaining yogurt.

I made this yesterday. It is lovely, however it was not as firm as it is in the picture, so next time I will make it with less water in the jelly. It is most definitely worth ONE point! mmmmm
