Hi, I’m Marianne, author, recipe developer and photographer at Pointedkitchen.com.
I am kind of obsessed with all things food, which is probably why I found myself walking into my first Weight Watchers meeting some 18 months ago, standing on those scales and wanting to cry.
My interest in food and cookery started at an early age, and I left school to study cookery at college. Although I never pursued cookery as a career I have always enjoyed it as a hobby, cooking for enjoyment and eating for fun!
Weight Watchers was a wake up call for me that was long overdue. From that initial meeting, I began to eat more healthily. I moved away from the high sugar, high fat food that I used to enjoy eating and cooking and have learnt to cook Weight Watcher friendly meals instead. What’s more I learnt to love it. It has completely changed my mindset with regards to food.
I am now at a very healthy weight, have more energy than I have had for years and have a blossoming self-confidence! I put this all down to following the Weight Watchers plan. I am a HUGE advocate of it! The plan has not been difficult, I have not felt deprived and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed learning a new way of eating / living. I still eat chocolate, I still eat cake but I have learnt the art (it really is an art) of moderation.
Pointedkitchen.com was created as I wanted to share that eating healthily and on plan does not have to be boring, does not have to be restrictive and most of all does not have to make you feel like you are on a diet. At Pointedkitchen.com you will find healthy Weight Watcher friendly recipes. Each recipe has been ‘pointed’ for your convenience using the Weight Watcher app recipe builder.
I now spend time in my tiny, tiny kitchen (8 foot by 9 foot 😀) creating healthy Weight Watcher friendly recipes, conjuring up successes but also making many recipe mistakes, making a mess and generally having fun. I still spend way too much time reading about food, researching food and talking about food, but at least it’s now about healthy food!
My partner on the other hand spends his time eating pizza and coding tools that calculate standard deviation and still manages to maintain a trim figure! How unfair!
Some of the links that you see on Pointed Kitchen are affiliate links. This means that if you click on one of them and make a purchase, I may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. This doesn’t cover the cost of running this website but does mean that every now and again when I’m out and about I can treat myself to a Starbucks
and a piece of cake .
