Are you craving some creamy mayonnaise but are worried about your Weight Watchers Points? Then look no further! This easy low point mayonnaise recipe is not only delicious but it is also low in points. It works out at just 1 Point per tablespoon and is easy and quick to make. Perfect!

I use a lot of mayonnaise! It’s a staple in my kitchen. I find it adds richness and flavor to sandwiches and salads, and I also use it as a dip. I especially like it as a side for air fried squash fries! However, most of the traditional store-bought versions are high in Points .... as much as 4 Points per tablespoon!!! So, for years I have been reaching for the lower calorie and fat free versions, as these are obviously lower in Points. But they lack that creamy, deliciousness of traditional mayo!

An image of a dish of mayonnaise on a wooden table with a bowl of lettuce and some bread in the background.

So, this Weight Watchers-friendly mayonnaise is a bit of a game-changer. I’ve discovered a mayonnaise recipe that delivers all the creamy, tangy goodness of full fat mayo with significantly fewer points than its store-bought counterparts.

The secret? Whole boiled eggs have been used, not just raw egg yolks, like traditional homemade mayonnaise! This 'bulks' it up. I’ve also carefully controlled the amount of oil used, and added flavor boosters like Dijon mustard, white wine vinegar and a splash of lemon juice to give it the taste of traditional mayo.

But, of course, the benefits don't stop at it being low in Weight Watchers Points. By making your own mayonnaise, rather than buying shop brought, you also:

    1. Avoid preservatives and artificial ingredients that are so often found in commercial mayonnaise … especially the low calorie & low fat versions.
    2. Control the quality of the ingredients that are going into your food.
    3. Can customise the flavor to your exact preferences.

So, whether you're spreading mayo on a sandwich, mixing it with succulent chicken for a tasty chicken salad, or you are dolloping it onto your favorite salad, this low Point mayonnaise will quickly become your new go-to condiment.

This mayo is so good, that you might find yourself never bothering with the shop brought versions any more!

So, read on on how to make this easy, delicious low point mayonnaise. Your taste buds – and your Weight Watchers Points – will really thank you!

A number of images of the ingredients needed to make homemade mayonnaise.
Ingredients for Low Point Weight Watchers Mayonnaise recipe.

    Ingredients

    • Hard boiled eggs
    • Vegetable oil
    • Dijon mustard
    • White wine vinegar
    • Salt
    • Lemon juice

    See recipe card for quantities.

    Instructions

    1. Boil the eggs to the soft boil stage & peel once cool enough.
    2. Place the eggs in the bowl of a blender along with the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth!
    3. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
    4. Told you it was easy!

    Hint:

This mayonnaise is best made using a high powered blender. The mayonnaise can start off looking a bit grainy, but will become smooth and silky if you persevere and carry on blending. I use my Ninja blender which works fantastically!

If, by any chance, the mayonnaise starts to split, you can add a tablespoon of water and re-blend.

    Substitutions

    • Oil: While vegetable oil works well, you can use light olive oil or avocado oil for a different flavor. This will change the Point value though!
    • Vinegar: Red wine vinegar can be used instead of white wine vinegar.
    • Mustard: Yellow mustard can replace Dijon if needed, but it will alter the flavor slightly.

    Variations

    1. Garlic Mayo: Add 1-2 cloves of minced garlic to the basic recipe.
    2. Herby Mayo: Stir in 1 tablespoon of finely chopped fresh herbs like dill, basil, or chives.
    3. Tartar Sauce: Add some chopped capers and chopped cornichons to make a delicious tartar sauce. See this recipe for Zero Point Tartar Sauce & swap out the store brought mayo for this one!
    4. Spicy Mayo: Add a dash of cayenne pepper or a teaspoon of sriracha sauce.

    Storage

Store this homemade mayonnaise in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It should last for up to three days.

Make sure to always use clean utensils when scooping out the mayo to prevent cross contamination.

    FAQ

Can I use an immersion blender to make this mayonnaise?

Yes! You can use an immersion blender to make this mayonnaise. Just place all ingredients in a jar and blend until emulsified. It may take some time!

Is this mayonnaise safe to eat?

I hope that you enjoy this quick and easy homemade, Weight Watchers-friendly mayonnaise! It's perfect for salads, sandwiches, or as a dip for your favorite veggies.

how does changing the oil from vegetable oil to avocado or olive oil change the points? Aren't they all the same calories for 6 T?
