Best Peanut Butter | Weight Watchers

If you adore peanut butter and are following the Weight Watchers plan you will love this list of over 20 of the Best Peanut Butter options for Weight Watchers.

Whether you follow the WW Points Plan or you are still sticking to one of the older plans (such as SmartPoints), you are sure to find a WW friendly Peanut Butter here!

9 jars of peanut butter with a text overlay stating Weight Watchers Best Peanut Butters.

Anyone who follows the Weight Watchers program but hankers after peanut butter will remember the disappointment of discovering just how many Points there are in a single serving of delicious creamy (or crunchy!) yummy peanut butter.

    Urgh! I was so disappointed!

How could a tablespoon be quite so many Points!

And to think that prior to following the WW program, I used to mindlessly eat it out of the jar with a spoon 😀

Powdered Peanut Butters & Weight Watchers

When I began following the Weight Watchers plan many years ago, powdered peanut butter wasn't really a thing! You had to search far and wide to find it or you had to order it off specialist protein websites.

Things have changed and it is now quite commonplace - you can buy some of the bigger brands in food stores like Walmart & Target and many 'health food stores' now stock a wide range of brands.

And the good news is that powdered peanut butters work out relatively low in Points.

To make up the powders into a spreadable butter you are usually instructed to mix with a small amount of water until you reach the desired consistency.

However, I have heard that some people prefer to mix it with zero fat natural yogurt for a more creamy consistency.

Others add a little sweetener or honey for sweetness or a little salt to add a bit more depth.

Why not experiment and find a way that suits your taste best!

Of course some people just don't like the powdered peanut butters and yearn for a lower point peanut butter spread.

Traditional Peanut Butters & Weight Watchers

Unfortunately, traditional peanut butters are much higher in Points than the powdered varieties.

I have listed a number of spreads below that range from 5 Points per 2 tablespoons to 7 Points per 2 tablespoons.

Some of them are flavored, some of them are 'plain', some are crunchy and some are smooth.

    All are delicious!

How I worked out the Points

I worked out the Points for each of these peanut butters in the Best Peanut Butters for Weight Watchers by inputting the nutritional information into the official WW calculator.

The Points are correct at the times of updating (January 2024)

Powdered Peanut Butter | 1 SmartPoint

Powdered peanut butters are a good alternative to the traditional spread as most are very low in SmartPoints!

They are now relatively easy to find in larger food stores and health food shops.

They are also available to buy from Amazon.

    PB2 Original Powdered Peanut Butter

PB2, probably the best known and most widely available of the powdered peanut butters, is 1 SmartPoint for 2 tbsp (13g). It can be purchased from most large food stores such as Walmart & Target and can also be ordered through Amazon.

    Lakanto Peanut Butter Powder

Lakanto Peanut Butter Powder is naturally sweetened with monkfruit. It is vegan friendly and suitable for people on a gluten free diet. It works out at 1 SmartPoint for 2 tbsp (12g). It is sweeter than many of the other PB powders and is available to order from Amazon and from the Lakanto web site.

    Tru-Nut Powdered Peanut Butter

Tru-Nut Powdered Peanut Butter works out at 1 SmartPoint for 2 tbsp (12g). It is gluten free and suitable for anyone following a vegan diet. As well as the original flavour they also do a chocolate flavored and coconut flavored peanut butter powder. It is available to order from Amazon and also from the Tru-Nut website.

PBfit All-Natural Chocolate Peanut Butter Powder

The PB Fit Chocolate Peanut Butter Powder works out at 1 SmartPoint for 2 tbsp (12g). Please note that the PB Fit original PB powder nutritional info states that 2 tbsp are equivalent to 16g whereas the chocolate flavoured PB powder nutritional info states 2 tbsp being equivalent to 12g! PB Fit Chocolate Peanut Butter Powder is available to purchase from larger food stores such as Target & Walmart as well as from Amazon.

    PBfit Sugar-Free Peanut Butter Powder

PB Fit Sugar Free Peanut Butter Powder works out at 1 SmartPoint for 2 tablespoons (16g). It is sweetened with monkfruit extract and erythritol and is suitable for anyone following a gluten free diet. It is available to buy online from Amazon.

Powdered Peanut Butter | 2 SmartPoints

Most of the peanut butter powders work out at 1 SmartPoint for 2 tablespoons of powder.

However, there are a few that work out at 2 SmartPoints for 2 tablespoons.

PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter with Cocoa

PB2's powdered peanut butter with cocoa works out at 2 SmartPoints for 2 tbsp (13g) as it has a higher sugar content than the original flavor. It is a little more difficult to find than the original flavor but can be purchased from Amazon.

    PBfit All-Natural Peanut Butter Powder

PB fit Peanut Butter Powder works out at 2 SmartPoints for 2 tbsp (16g). It is gluten free and suitable for people following a vegan diet. It is available to buy from larger food stores including Target and Walmart or is available to order online from Amazon.

PBfit Pumpkin Spice Peanut Butter Powder

The new PBfit Pumpkin Spice Peanut Butter Powder works out at 2 SmartPoints per 2 tbsp (16g). Its a little more difficult to find than the original flavoured powder but it is available to buy online from Amazon. If you love all things pumpkin spice then this is the one for you!

Nuts ‘N More Maple Waffle Peanut Butter Powder

This Nuts 'N More Maple Waffle Powdered Peanut Butter works out at 2 SmartPoints per 2 tbsp. Other flavours are available. They are available to purchase from Amazon or online from the Nuts 'N More website.

Peanut Butter Spreads | 5 SmartPoints

I have found a couple of Peanut Butter Spreads that work out at 5 SmartPoints for 2 tablespoons.

Unfortunately, at the time of writing this it looks like Jif have discontinued their very popular whipped peanut butter .... hey, don't shoot the messenger!

However, these 2 brands do have a lower SmartPoint value than the majority of other peanut butter spreads currently available.

    Peter Pan, Whipped Creamy

Peter Pan Whipped Creamy Peanut Butter works out at 5 SmartPoints per 2 tbsp (24g). This is a couple of SmartPoints less than the Peter Pan non whipped variety so is a good option if you're not keen on the powdered peanut butters but are looking for a lower point PB. It is available from some food stores such as Walmart, from the Peter Pan website or from Amazon.

    Peanut Butter High Protein Spread

The Nuts 'N More brand is fast becoming popular with people following the WW plan. As well as developing this peanut spread which works out at 5 SmartPoints for 2 tbsp (33g) they have developed a number of tasty flavored peanut butter spreads (see more flavors below!). This plain peanut butter is available to buy on the Nuts 'N More website and also from Amazon.

Peanut Butter Spreads | 6 SmartPoints

Generally speaking, most peanut butter spreads work out at 6 SmartPoints per 2 tablespoons.

Serving sizes on the tubs tend to be per 2 tablespoons (32g - 33g) so this is why I have shown the SmartPoint values for 2 tablespoons.

On some of the brands I have also included the SmartPoint value for a 1 tablespoon serving.

On the brands that I haven't given the value for a 1 tablespoon serving I'd suggest that you check on your WW app before assuming that 1 tablespoon would be half the SmartPoints of 2 tablespoons!

    PBfit Peanut Butter Spread

PBfit have recently launched a protein peanut butter spread that works out at 6 SmartPoint per 2 tbsp (32g). It is very high in protein - 42% more than traditional peanut butters and is available to purchase direct from the Better Bodies website or online from Amazon.

Nuts 'N More Birthday Cake Peanut Butter Spread

These popular Nuts 'N More peanut butter spreads come in a variety of different flavors and are very high in Protein. This Birthday Cake Peanut Spread with added sprinkles (!) works out at 6 SmartPoints per 2 tbsp (33g) or 3 SmartPoints for 1 tablespoon (16g). It is available to order from Amazon or online from the Nuts 'N More website.

Nuts 'N More White Chocolate Pretzel Peanut Butter Spread

This Nuts 'N More White Chocolate Pretzel Peanut Butter Spread works out at 6 SmartPoints for 2 tbsp (33g) or 3 SmartPoints for 1 tbsp. This Spread the Love Naked Peanut Butter works out at 6 SmartPoints for 2 tbsp (32g). It is organic and suitable for anyone following a gluten free or vegan diet. It is available to but online from Walmart and from Amazon.

    SKIPPY Peanut Butter, Creamy

One of the most popular brands of peanut butter, Skippy Creamy works out at 6 SmartPoints for 2 tbsp (32g). This original creamy variety works out as the same SmartPoint values per tablespoon as the reduced fat creamy variety (which has less fat but more sugar!) and 1 SmartPoint less than the new Skippy No Added Sugar variety! Skippy peanut butter is widely available and can also be ordered online from Amazon.

    Skippy Super Chunk Peanut Butter

Like the creamy variety, the Skippy Super Chunk Peanut Butter works out at 6 SmartPoints for 2 tbsp (32g). It is packed full of crunchy peanut pieces and a little hint of salt. It is widely available to buy in store and also on line on Amazon.

    Jif Creamy Peanut Butter

Jif Creamy Peanut Butter works out at 6 SmartPoints per 2 tbsp (33g). It is available to buy in most grocery stores or you can order it online through Amazon.

Peanut Butter | 7 SmartPoints and over

Most peanut butter spreads work out at 6 SmartPoints for 2 tablespoons.

However, there are a number of peanut butters that work out higher in SmartPoints (usually because of more added sugars).

Just incase you are looking for a real indulgence, then I have listed some of them here!

Remember, nothing is off limits with Weight Watchers - just as long as you remember to track it!!

Nuts 'N More Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Peanut Butter Spread

This Nuts 'N More Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Peanut Butter Spread works out at 7 SmartPoints for 2 tbsp (33g) or 3 SmartPoints for 1 tbsp (16g). It is available to buy from Amazon or from the Nuts 'n More website.

    SKIPPY Creamy Roasted Honey Nut

This Skippy Creamy Roasted Honey Nut Peanut Butter works out at 7 SmartPoints for 2 tablespoons. It is available to buy from Amazon as well as from larger food stores.

    Jif Natural Creamy Peanut Butter

The Jif Natural Creamy Peanut Butter works out at 7 SmartPoints per 2 tbsp (33g). It seems to have a higher sugar content than the original creamy variety. It is available to purchase at most large food stores and also in bulk from Amazon.
