Fitness trackers are a perfect way to monitor your activity, health & wellbeing while following the Weight Watchers plan.
This list of more than 15 of the Best Fitness Trackers available in 2019 outlines the trackers' main functions and discusses their compatibility with the WW app.
The list includes the bigger fitness tracker brands such as Apple, Fitbit and Garmin but also includes some of the lesser known trackers such as Moov Now and Amazfit Bip.
So What are Fitness Trackers?
In this post I have lumped both fitness bands and smart watches under the umbrella term 'fitness trackers'. But there are differences!
- Fitness bands are devices which record steps taken, distance travelled, calories burned etc. Some also monitor heart rate and sleep patterns. A fitness band is used and worn specifically for the purpose of tracking your daily activity. Generally fitness bands will be cheaper than smart watches.
- Smart watches are multipurpose in their use. As well as being a watch, they track steps taken, distance travelled, calories burned etc and will pair with a smart phone to enable you to review and respond to calls and messages and a whole lot more. They are generally more expensive than fitness bands.
Which Fitness Trackers are compatible with Weight Watchers
The list may change but currently you can sync Apple Health, FitBit, Garmin, Withings and Misfit to the WW app.
If you want more details on connecting your Apple Health to the WW app take a look at this useful page from the Weight Watchers website.
There is also some more general information and tips on syncing to the WW app on the WW website here.
There may be workarounds on syncing some of the other fitness trackers to the Weight Watchers app. I would suggest that you contact WW support or ask around on WW forums before you buy.
How much are Fitness Trackers?
You can expect to pay anything from $50 to well over $1000 for a fitness band / smart watch.
You can purchase a basic fitness tracker that will track steps, monitor distance travelled and count calories for less than $60.
Some of the smart watches are capable of doing so much that they come with rather a hefty price tag!!
I have listed fitness trackers from both ends of the scale along with a number of very popular mid range trackers.
I hope that you find this useful!
