These Garlic Cheese Biscuits (scones if you are in the UK!) are 3 Points per biscuit on the Weight Watchers Point Plan.
They are so simple to make, using just 4 ingredients! The are delicious eaten warm, straight out of the oven as a tasty low Point snack.
Alternatively, serve them cold with a WW friendly soup or as a side to a warming casserole.
Isn't 2 Ingredient dough difficult to make?
Two ingredient dough is a dough that is basically self raising / self rising flour and fat free yogurt that is combined to make a dough.
The dough can be made into a variety of baked goods such as these Dough Balls, these Bagels, or even pizza dough with added ingredients/flavourings.
The typical recipe calls for one cup of flour to one cup of yogurt ... but often people find that using that amount of yogurt straight off the bat makes the dough too sticky.
I'd suggest a couple of things if you are new to two ingredient dough or haven't quite got the hang of it yet.
Firstly, if you use a thick or set yogurt it sometimes has a watery liquid on the top of it. I have found that if I drain this off first (rather than mixing it into the yogurt) I get better results!
Don't ask me why!!
Secondly, I start with a scant cup of flour, that is a cup of flour that I have not packed and is just shy of being filled to the top. This equates to about 120g.
I then add about half of the yogurt, mix with a fork to combine it and then add the rest of the yogurt spoonful by spoonful until the dough has reached the right consistency.
The dough can be sticky and difficult to work with (especially if you are used to working with a yeasty dough!) but it doesn't need kneading so all you need to do is mould it into the shape that you want it to be and bake it.
Try not to use too much extra flour on your surface or on your hands - it is tempting but that can lead to the dough becoming stiff and then becoming dense when you bake it.
Having said all of this - two ingredient dough really isn't difficult to master.

What yogurt should I use?
I tend to use 0% fat Fage but you can use any non fat yogurt of your liking.
I have tried lots of different yogurts & have found that most work as long as I follow the tips above!
For WW obviously you need to use fat free natural yogurt or fat free Greek yogurt for the Points to be zero.
What cheese should I use?
Twenty grams (or approx 3 level tbsps) of most grated reduced fat cheddar cheeses works out at 1 Point - this is what I used for these Garlic Cheese biscuits.
I use the sharpest / most mature reduced fat cheddar cheese that I can find as this gives these biscuits the most 'cheesy' flavour!
Garlic Powder, Garlic Granules or Garlic Salt?
I used garlic powder in this recipe.
If you use garlic granules it brings the Points up to 4 Points per biscuit on each plan!
Using 1 tsp of garlic salt would make this recipe too salty (in my opinion) so I'd suggest halving that amount and also omitting the salt from the dough recipe!

Garlic & Cheese Biscuits | Weight Watchers
Ingredients
- 1 scant cup self raising flour (120g) *{see tips below if using All Purpose Flour}
- ¾ cup fat free natural yogurt (I usually use 0% fat FAGE) (185g)
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 3 tbsp reduced fat cheddar cheese (shredded) (20g)
Instructions
- PLEASE read the notes / tips below about 2 ingredient dough & yogurt before you start!
- Preheat the oven to 400°F / 200°C / 180°C fan
- Place the flour in a bowl and add the salt and the garlic powder and mix to combine.
- Add about half of the yogurt & mix to combine using a fork.
- Add the rest of the yogurt spoonful by spoonful until the dough is sticky but not so sticky it sticks to the edges of the bowl.
- You may not use all of the yogurt or you may need some extra - the success of two ingredient dough is getting the dough into a consistency that it is wet but not too wet that it sticks to everything & is unworkable.
- Lightly flour your work surface and tip out the dough.
- Using lightly floured hands, pat the dough out into a circle.
- Use a 3 inch cookie cutter to cut out 4 biscuits. You may find it easier to lightly flour this too!
- Carefully place the biscuits on a non stick cookie sheet.
- Divide the grated cheese equally between the tops of the four biscuits.
- Bake in the centre of the oven for 15 minutes or until the biscuits have risen, turned golden brown and the cheese has melted and turned golden brown.
